The four ways sound affects us
I see an integral part of my being an Audiologist as being an Educator.
Research has proven the undeniable relationship between hearing well and mental wellbeing.
Family & social & work engagement is vital to our wellbeing – we need reliable hearing to maintain our wellbeing.
I would encourage you to watch this TED YouTube clip by clicking on the link below – I would also strongly encourage it to share with others so that we spread the importance of ‘Hearing Health’.
Bronwen Hofmeister (Audiologist)
BA (Hons). MclinAud., MAudSA
One of my main enjoyments as a practicing Audiologist is providing community audiological services in conjunction with the University of Queensland where I received my Master in Clinical Audiology and Honours degree in Psychology some 20 years ago.
The significance of being an independent audiologist is that I will recommend a hearing aid that is best suited to my client’s needs – I am not tied to any specific manufacturer or brand.
I operate from my own, professional and private rooms at the Wesley Hospital from which I conduct rehabilitative audiological services. I have presented as a guest speaker at the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery Annual National Registrar Conference; been published in the Australian & New Zealand Journal of Audiology (Audiological Outcomes of Severe Traumatic Brain Injury with Base of Skull Fracture); and been selected as one of just eighteen worldwide to train under Professor Sweetow, a worldwide renowned specialist in providing positive tinnitus therapy outcomes in Copenhagen Denmark. This training has been invaluable to assist my clients in overcoming the debilitating effects of tinnitus.
Prior to commencing my private practice, I was part of the Queensland Cochlear Implant Centre team, providing pre-implant hearing aid fitting and audiological rehabilitation counselling.Watch video
For more than a decade Bronwen Hofmeister has been my audiologist, during which the professional service provided by Bronwen has been second to none. I have always found Bronwen to be patient, courteous and respectful in the way she conducts her practice. Bronwen is the only audiologist I would trust when it comes to my hearing
I have been using Browen Hofmeister for over 10 both as a patient with a profound hearing loss and as a referring general practitioner. I have always received excellent service from a kind caring person who has gone out of her way to ensure the best results. I would recommend Bronwen to anyone who is looking for an excellent audiologist.
Bronwen changed my life forever. There is none better as I can now hear clearly for the first time in umpteen years. I now ask my wife to turn the TV down, not up so I can hear!
Before I met Bronwen Hofmeister I was deaf, had lumps in my ears called hearing aids and was not much improved. Now I can hear well and I often forget that I have hearing aids in my ears.
I have always found Bronwen to be very efficient, cheerful and helpful whenever I have seen her. I have recommended several friends and they feel the same as I do. I always find it hard to find the right words Bronwen, but you do know because I have recommended several friends to see you, I am very happy with the help you have given me!!
